Wawanesa announces $2 million annual fund for climate resiliency

Insurance company announced a $2 million/year program called Wawanesa Climate Champions to support climate resiliency. 

Through the Environmental Guardians aspect of this program, funding will support a wide variety of groups working on nature-based solutions. 

The company is partnering with:

  • Youth Climate Lab
  • World Wildlife Fund Canada
  • Tree Canada
  • ALUS
  • Ducks Unlimited Canada
  • Nature Conservancy of Canada
  • Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR)
  • FireSmart™ Canada
  • Farmers for Climate Solutions
  • Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER)
  • Canadian Red Cross
